Guadalupe C. Garcia
Postdoctoral Fellow at the Salk Institute

Hello, world!
Here I gathered some information about me, my scientific path and my ongoing research. I am currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Salk Institute in Terry Sejnowski’s Lab, part of the MCell team and of the LEBIP MURI consortium at UCSD. Now I focus on brain energetics, and in particular the costs of synaptic transmission and homeostasis.
I am a physicist by training, but got quickly fascinated with Biology, with living matter, how life emerges from molecular interactions in cells, how we process information. My aim is to work in close collaboration with experimental scientists, to gain deep understanding of the mechanisms underlying biological processes, integrating experiments with theory or mathematical modeling.
